About the Author
Dr. Nick LeRoy is the director of the Illinois Center for Progressive Health, located in Chicago's Fulton Market district. He is a holistic physician who integrates his training in nutrition, chiropractic, acupuncture, internal medicine and women’ s health to offer unique approaches to most ailments. Dr. LeRoy is a primary care physician for Alternative Medicine Incorporated, a Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO. He is also a member of the American Academy of Chiropractic Physicians. Dr. LeRoy has been featured as a women’s health expert at the Whole Life Expo of 1997, 1998 and 2002, and he has been interviewed on Chicago NBC news, ABC news, Fox news and local radio as a holistic medicine expert. He has also lectured on breast cancer prevention and treatment at Gilda’s Club of Chicago and the Wellness House in Hinsdale, IL. Dr. LeRoy holds a BS in human biology from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, where he also completed post-graduate studies in molecular biology and endocrinology. He graduated summa cum laude from the National University of Health Sciences, and graduated from Midwest Center for the Study of Oriental Medicine. Dr. LeRoy has a Master’s Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice as well as post-doctoral training in internal medicine and gynecology. Dr. LeRoy has owned and managed the Illinois Center for Progressive Health since 1995. He has also been credentialled by NCQA as a primary care physician for HMO-Illinois for fifteen years. In addition to this experience, Dr. LeRoy was the past CEO of a company providing interactive corporate health and wellness programs, services and resources. He has also been on the faculty of several schools teaching anatomy, physiology and pathology.

Great information on natural treatment!

Read this book and find a naturopath doctor who will help you follow this treatment plan! I'm so glad I found this book! It's an easy read– written for women with high-risk HPV.
It is full of extremely useful information about high-risk HPV, and gives scientific reasons for why natural treatment works.
It explains how the virus can continue to cause problems for healthy women, and what to do about it. It explains why our medical system is so screwed up in terms of what your gynecologist has told you about HPV, and why surgeries such as LEEPs are not the best solutions to heal your body from HPV. It advocates for fighting the virus by taking action as soon as you've been diagnosed with it––not the "wait and see" approach (which often leads to cervical dysplasia progressing). The book focuses on escharotic treatment, and describes how it works, complete with case studies. It explains how escharotic treatments can completely clear cervical dysplasia CIN 1/2/3 and completely clear HPV from your system. The book provides great nutritional information on what supplements to take, as well as what foods to eat. The author references many scientific studies.

This book changed my life! Amazing insight into Cervical Dysplasia

I'm a 25 year old female suffering from Endometriosis, PCOS and over the past 1.5- 2 years also developed Cervical Dysplasia (CIN 1) consistent with HPV infection. I have been through hell and back dealing with hospital admissions, hundreds of doctor and gynaecologist visits, all who had the same advice, to leave it untreated, wait and see what happens and if it gets bad enough to then have surgery.
When I was diagnosed with my first condition at 19 (Endometriosis) and PCOS not long after, I let the doctors operate a few years later as I could no longer handle the ongoing pain that was making every day life unbearable. I had been so optimistic hoping that surgery would cure all my problems and pain. 3 months after my surgery, both conditions had returned worse that before. It was then that I knew surgery was just a temporary bandaid and that surgery and the doctors were simply missing the point and not treating the underlying factors in my body that were causing these problems. It was not long after my surgery that I developed abnormal cells on my cervix and was advised to 'wait and see', my follow up pap smear a year later showed I had progressed to Cervical Dysplasia (CIN 1) and I was advised to 'wait and see', with my most recent pap smear remained as CIN 1, however I was informed that I would probably require a LEEP procedure if my next pap smear remained the same or got any worse.
After my surgery failed, I moved away from the typical medical treatment and sought alternative treatment from a Natroupath. I had such good results with seeking treatment from a Natruropath for Endometriosis and PCOS (to the point my symptoms have almost disappeared completely), that I knew there would have to be a natural way in treating Cervical Dysplasia as well. I was lucky enough to stumble across Dr. Nicholas LeRoy, who I can't thank enough for ongoing help and support.
I was required to read his book 'Painting a Target on HPV' before we could commence treatment and after reading only a few pages I knew straight away I had finally found a renowned doctor who was successfully treating Cervical Dysplasia naturally. His book provided me with an understanding of why and how I developed cervical dysplasia and that I held a genetic mutation which made to more vulnerable to the condition. This was revolutionary for me as my gynaecologists could never give me any answers. His book provided me with the resources, steps, treatment plan and dietary advice to start treating the condition naturally and the amount of case studies provided in his book for comparative purposes made it easier for me to understand the treatment process and to relate to other women.
It also explained in detail why a treatment which is natural, simple, cheap with no nasty side effects is not the conventional treatment given by all gynaecologists and it disgusting that so many other woman are suffering from failed LEEP procedures when a natural cure exists.
If you're suffering from any form of Cervical Dysplasia I highly recommend reading this book and contacting Dr. Nick for treatment. His treatment method and this book will change your life as it did mine!

Finally, a clear explanation of HPV and a rational plan for treating it!

Painting a Target on HPV (2015) by Dr. Nick Leroy is a welcome publication in the field of research on this virus. Much of what has been written on HPV for the non-medical reader (who is likely searching out this information because of an HPV-positive diagnosis) is either too scientific to be understandable or too anecdotal to be helpful. Dr. Leroy’s writing educates readers about the intricacies and complications of this virus, but he does so in a manner that is entirely accessible. Painting a Target is a must read for any person who wants to understand the causes and potential remedies for HPV, whether she is just seeking information or considering a treatment plan.
Drawing upon his twenty years of experience in treating women with HPV and cervical dysplasia and his extensive research of scientific findings related to the virus (he includes an annotated bibliography of over 100 references at the end of the book), Dr. Leroy takes to task the medical profession’s reliance upon a two-fold response to HPV: firstly, instructing patients to “wait and see” if their dysplasia will advance and then rushing them to into surgery that is often invasive and damaging once progression is detected. He gives the hope that a non-surgical solution is possible by offering a three-part plan that involves supplements, diet, and escharotic treatment.
To provide a rationale for his plan, he leads readers through five chapters where he defines HPV and cervical dysplasia (providing clear explanations for terms commonly used liked ASCUS, LSIL, HSIL, CIN I, CIN II, and CIN III), explains the cofactors and predisposing factors that cause 10-20% of women to lack the ability to clear the virus from the system in the usual time frame of two years, outlines his suggestions for healthy dietary measures and supplements (providing justifications for each of his recommendations), introduces his direct escharotic treatment plan (which differs significantly from the escharotic treatment strategies of other alternative practitioners like Dr. Tori Hudson), and presents case studies from patients he has treated with accompanying color photographs of their cervixes (illustrating the gradual elimination of the virus over the course of treatment).
Dr. Leroy’s efforts are much appreciated because so little sound advice is currently being offered to women facing this health concern who, in the absence of proactive measures being offered by their gynecologists, are turning to whatever alternative options appear to be helping others in clearing the virus. Dr. Leroy stands alone in offering such a comprehensive scientific examination of HPV and such a rational plan for combatting it. He offers a new avenue for women who have had to endure multiple LEEPS as well as to women who have tried numerous alternative measures to no avail. In sharing his wealth of knowledge in this book, in such a clear and exact manner, he will hopefully begin to shift the discussion about this virus and impact the approaches of physicians, both traditional and alternative.
