I love reading.. But this book get my attention. First thing it sounds new to me and a kind of illness i rarely encounter. Autism is what's common to me. This book defines the differences between the two. Though I am not really interested in the beginning when reading this book but it caught my attention somehow. As a mother you play a big role in every childs development. It may seem to focus on the illness and how to deal with it. But this book are for those mother's out there who has a child of such illness. Hope and courage when you are about to give up. It will give you a better understanding of the situation and how to deal with it. This book is made by the author for those mom's out there!

Although there are many possible symptoms of Asperger's syndrome, the main symptom is significant trouble with social situations. Your child may have mild to severe symptoms or have a few or many of these symptoms. Because of the wide variety of symptoms, no two children with Asperger's are alike. Parents often first notice the symptoms of Asperger's syndrome when their child starts preschool and begins to interact with other children. Children with Asperger's syndrome may not pick up on social cues and may lack inborn social skills, such as being able to read others' body language, start or maintain a conversation, and take turns talking, dislike any changes in routines, appear to lack empathy, avoid eye contact or stare at others, and mny more... Also, unlike many books I have read about autism and Asperger's Syndrome, this book is written very much for the lay person, you don't have to have a PhD to understand this book. There are also very practical solutions for many of the challenging problems unique to Asperger's and austism in here as well.

I am just actually having a light reading since I am quite bored. I am a fan of medicinal books, I am just fascinated with them and it is good to know facts and gain knowledge on medicines in case you would be needing them one day and this book was really great on the information that it provided on Asperger syndrome. Its explanations and descriptions are very comprehensive, easy to understand.
