I really like the way the book was laid out

I have also read at least 15 other books including Keto Clarity, The Calorie Myth, etc. that may or may not be directly related to nutritional ketosis. I really like the way the book was laid out. In the beginning, the author does a good job of laying out the objectives for the book. I was pleased to find that the book was not buried with references to scientific studies, which can make books more difficult to follow. It did a great job of summarizing the science behind the diet, etc., without burying you with all the details. There are plenty of other books out there for that. The book did an excellent job of assisting the reader in practically applying knowledge to a keto-adapted lifestyle. Another thing I really appreciated about this book, as compared to some others, is that the author didn't interchange terms like carbohydrates and sugars, as though they mean the same things. All carbs aren't created equal, and authors that mix the terms up, can make it difficult to follow the applied science. I liked the section on Keto Blocks, and appreciated those specific entries. I also thought the author did an excellent job of engaging the audience, in a high tech way, by encouraging feedback from the reader, which will lead to long term dialog as well as success if the reader applies the principals in the book.

Very thourough, easy to follow and specific of what you need to do to get started on a ketogenic plan

I have been reading some blogs, bought a book from another author and have been listening to podcasts about the LCHF lifestyle and ketogenic plan and I thought I was applying it to my life until I read this book! It turns out I had it very wrong and it didn't take me long at all to realize that with just reading the first half of this book. In this book, Jen tells you everything you need to know to be able to decide if this lifestyle is something you want. And if you do want to join her in this journey, then she explains you exactly what you need to do, what to eat, what not to eat. She actually lists the best sources of fat, protein and carbs (vegetables) in the order of quality! She talks to the reader as a friend and her style made me actually feel that I had her right here with me showing me what to do. She explains enough things so that you learn but not too many that you would get bored. I will definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to be taken by the hand in this healthy lifestyle and I would also recommend to subscribe to her podcasts Ask Naturopath Jen and The Wellness Empire which are a great source of free support along the way.

This is a great introduction to nutritional ketosis

This is a great introduction to nutritional ketosis. Jen explains the health benefits of ketosis and how to get your body adapted to use ketones as fuel. This way of eating can be very helpful for people that struggle with excess fat and high blood glucose levels. It can also reduce cravings and provide nearly endless energy.
It is a quick read and very informative.
