Intriguing Review on How our Minds Work

This is a review and analysis of Singer's "The Untethered Soul" and is not the actual book. The review summarizes what the book is about, lists 8 key takeaways, and analyzes those takeaways. The review was very intriguing and had me questioning my mind and how I think. My favorite part of the review was takeaway one. It says, "The constantly-talking voice inside people's heads is not actually them. It is just a voice that they hear in their minds and recognize through their consciousness." I always assumed that my "crazy" thoughts reflected the type of person that I was, but this review discussed how that is not the case. I highly recommend this book to those who are interested in psychology and/or finding inner peace.

Interesting key points and summary

I have not read 'The Untethered Soul' but my curiosity brought me to this condensed version so I could check out the subject matter and key points to decide if it was a book for me. The Untethered Soul is about reaching enlightenment, not necessarily as a devout yogi or master meditator but as a "normal" person using certain tools to unblock their emotional energy blocks and become "aware of being aware" (I suppose it would take some deep meditation to really delve into that concept.) The author gives examples and avoids the use of abstract language to make the points more easily understood, less mysterious and more attainable to the reader and drives key points home by bringing them up repeatedly throughout the chapters. I found this to be a good preview of the book and also a helpful summary in case I decide to purchase the Untethered Soul, I will be able to reread this and see the key points quickly.

~~ Meditative review on The Untethered Soul by Singer ~~

The two page overview at the beginning of this detailed review by Eureka books shows the reader that this book is what some would describe as a "self-help" book. It is a book encouraging you to examine yourself (emotions, behavior etc.) declaring that "connection to the energy of the universe" is " the ultimate source of calm and happiness".
Apart from being the author of the original, full-length book who is Michael Singer? He is described by Eureka as being "a spiritual teacher and founder of Temple of the Universe, a yoga and meditation center".
There are 8 Key Takeways in this book. Each one is listed first, followed by a then more detailed examination of each statement. Michael Singer believes that meditation is the path to enlightenment. In Key Takeaway 1 it talks about the voice inside your head not actually being you. One example given is that if you have a crazy thought when you pass by a shop window and imagine stealing something that does not make you a kleptomaniac. There appears to be quite a lot of 'discussion' on the inner voice.
"There is nothing more pure than consciousness being aware that it is aware." What are energy blockages? "Author maintains a simple and easy to digest language using concrete words and examples to illustrate the concepts".
SO why purchase a book that is just a summary? Maybe you don't have time to read the full book but have to have some knowledge of what the content of the original is about. Maybe you have already read the original and need a refresher OR maybe you just want to get the gist of what the book is about before reading the original.
