Well, what to say about this book? It is inspiring. It is thought-provoking. It is a call to action for YOU! Yes, YOU! The author spills his soul in this book in a such a motivating way that you get the urge to get your butt off the couch and start working on your self. For you. Not for shows. This book attacks the subject anyone sitting in a chair having a nice little stressful corporate life feels the deepest - the work-life balance. Mind is inseparable from the body, and working on your body will help your mind as well. Great book!

Ivica, I read your book. I must admit, although I know you 20 years, you always find a way to impress me. Your skills, talent, vision, persistence and knowledge are well presented and described within this book. Personally I consider your first book as excellent guideline for an average man, for 'one of us', to start think about his life generally, to move forward, to be a better person.

What a great find! I've been trying to cut out or at least cut down on sugar in my diet for some time now... especially soda. I know that it's horrible for the body but I started craving the stuff like you wouldn't believe after I stopped drinking alcohol almost two years ago. I was excited to find some natural remedies to cure the craving as well as some tips to stay on track. I have the worst addiction to sugar, and no diet ever works because I always find a way to sneak in some sugary treats throughout the day. I grabbed this book with little expectation, and I have to tell you within the first week I was hooked. Not only are the recipes delicious, they helped to curb my sugar cravings over time. I still get the occasional urge for a Peanut Butter Cup, but it is only a fraction of the amount i used to gobble down. Great Book.

Gaining a better understanding of fibromyalgia without the need for a medical degree

This book is the perfect beginner’s guide to understanding fibromyalgia. I honestly came across this book while doing some research on joint pain (thanks to a physical disability. This is something I worry about on a regular basis and I want to make sure that I stay is flexible and mobile as possible as long as I can. And although I do not currently have any symptoms of fibromyalgia, nor have I been diagnosed with the disease. I have been hearing a lot about it in the news and was curious to know a little bit more about it and this book fit the bill perfectly. It clearly explained that fibromyalgia was a muscular skeletal disease that causes muscles to essentially break down and lose function. This also causes severe pain and discomfort when moving and has symptoms of fatigue, headaches, joint pain, muscle soreness, back pain, and other chronic issues. After reading this book I am definitely going to check with my doctor and get tested for fibromyalgia. The next time I go in for a physical just to make sure I don’t and any more health problems to the ones I already have.

I learned a lot just by reading this book!

Fibromyalgia is a health condition that is totally new to me. I am not really fond of learning about health issues as they scare, to tell you frankly. However, I need to learn them in order to avoid having them. The first one I read in thorough is this book about fibromyalgia. The book shares with us details about fibromyalgia such as signs and symptoms of the health issues, how it can be managed and treated, as well as how pain can be alleviated. This is a very sensitive topic yet the book was able to present it very clearly and very simply. I learned a lot just by reading this book.

I've been looking for a booklet that pinpoints and summarizes all the research on fibromyalgia. I've studied it a lot on the internet. Sometimes I think I have it, but I don't want to join the "disease of the month" club and say I do. So this book promises to inform me with all I need to know--signs, symptoms, remedies, treatment, etc.

Widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, mood and sleep issues -- check.
Painful parts of my body that are painful to the touch -- check.
Trouble sleeping, wake up aching -- check.
More likely in women than in men -- I'm in the unlikely category.
Anxiety, depression, extreme mood swings -- Forget it already, willya!?
Restless leg syndrome -- ouch! Sometimes my legs go walking without me.
Morning stiffness -- check.

Okay, I'm a candidate. Now, what causes fibromyalgia? Genetics -- I have that; infections -- I've had some; physical trauma -- ruptured discs.

Now, cure me, Doc! Oh, Doc suspects it's either in my head or just arthritis -- take ibuprofen. Natural healers suggest acupuncture, chiropractic, massage and meditation. Been there -- not much relief. Sometimes worse after chiropractic treatments, especially where they crack my neck. Massage usually helps; once the masseuse overdid it and I suffered for months afterwards.

The author strongly suggests "cognitive behavior therapy." Strengthen my thoughts about what I do and how I feel. Just like Doc said: I need to have my head straightened up from the inside.

Some nutritional possibilities -- capsaicin, melatonin, good nutrition. Exercise -- long walks in sunny weather helps. I live in the Pacific Northwest -- there goes that idea!

This helps, though. Read Amazon books (especially free ones) and write reviews. That gets my mind off my problems and onto other people's problems, and hopefully solutions. Yep, being involved in reading and writing helps. That's why I have some books on the Amazon list. Funny stuff helps. I entertain myself a lot with weird noises!

Excellent book for those who want to lose weight and keep it off.

I love with weight loss books, that there are recipes included in the book. I did not know what Leptin resistance was until now. I like how the book explains Letpin resistance and now you can reset your hormones so you don't lose weight. You can eat foods that can reset your body so you can lose weight and feel great. I am glad how the author fully explains what Leptin resistance is and how you can reset your body to help you lose weight. I like the well written and well organized book. I am glad that I purchased this book.

A Must Read For Anyone Considering A Journey Into A Mindful Life Or Wanting To Get More Out Of Their Current Meditation Practice

Grace has captured the essence of how you can get the most out of mindfulness.
She provides good scientific support of what a mindfulness practice can do for you.
She presents a welcome pragmatic guide that doesn’t try to convince you of any way of thought.

Rather, she lovingly provides a tool kit full of implements for daily crafting of your own practice.

She connects you to the deep history of the practice of meditation and mindfulness in a very easy to approach and digest summary.
In addition, Grace’s meditation instructions are a no nonsense, yet elegant solution to any “worries” the skeptic might have about what it actually means to meditate.

Pragmatic and genuine.

She accurately emphasizes we don’t need any “accessories” to our meditation. She does acknowledge that some people can be helped by using things like guided meditation and meditation beads and she points you toward excellent resources that can help if you need them.

Her “Mindful Minute” is probably, in my opinion, the most powerful way we can take mindfulness with us in the world and really incorporate it in our daily living, not just while we are “sitting.” This one technique alone provides a massive value for you, the reader. If “Mindful Minute” were the only technique in the book, the book would still be worth its weight in gold.

Grace also gives you an extensive resources section.

My results so far: I put her “5 Things” technique into practice hours after reading the book for the first time. It really helped me last night. I was struggling with sleeplessness. Soon after I used the technique, I was gently drifting off to dreamland.
And I love the Rag Doll exercise, and it really helped me relax this morning as I was getting ready for a stressful day.

This book has something for everyone. The novice, who is intimidated by the whole "meditation practice" idea - and the more experienced who is looking for ideas and tips on making meditation a habit that becomes a part of daily life. The author clearly outlines how simple mindful meditation is in theory, (no, you don't need accessories or anything to just get going!) AND she's filled the book with excellent references, easy tips and suggestions, powerful quotes and a personal story that is humorous and thoughtful. "Without judgement" are two words that are repeated throughout the book - and worthy of trying to live by. Thanks Grace Stevens.

A great beginning book on meditation

This is a very good book on basic meditation, what to expect and not to expect, and several tips for anyone new to the practice. One thing I really liked about this book is that it didn't have any of the usual mumbo-jumbo about astral projection or whatever and kept it pretty straight forward and really down to earth. This is a reality based book that anyone can use to feel better, have greatly reduced stress, and generally be more relaxed people.

What a great read it turned out to be. The author of this hilarious yet highly informative book tells the reader of her own struggle with weight gain. I have been fighting a battle with food and weight loss myself for almost two decades, so I was able to truly relate.

The author teaches the reader to have a better relationship with and thought process about losing weight and dieting. Thinking that you can succeed is more than half the battle.

I personally cannot wait to start trying some of the ideas outlined in this book. Simple, easy changes can really add up to big weight loss, as demonstrated by the author. She dropped a large amount of weight in a short time, and by following her lead, any of us struggling with weight loss can do the same.

Ditch the Diet

Losing weight is a pain, and generally it takes way too long and people give up so very easily. Diets don't work, I don't care if you say you have had one work for you before, diets are not long term and thus you will gain all of the weight back with a vengeance. A (small) reward based system might just be the way to truly get the weight-loss to stick. I have noticed, just like Caroline, that when I don't deprive my body and I live in moderation I tend to feel better and see results that actually make a difference.

A Must Read

I was so proud of myself when I lost 24 pounds in 4 months, then I saw that this women lost 44 in 3 months, Wow, I had to read how she did it. I am so glad I purchased this book. Not only is it packed full of great information, but I love how the author has added humor in the description. Just like the author I began to grow my own food, it not only is so much better for you to eat, but is better for your entire body as well. I love the suggestions she gives about coming up with new rewards. This is a great book and will have a permanent place in my library.

It's full of step by step directions/explanations and straight forward tips to help you become more sensitive to your emotions and the emotions around you. For a lot of people the methods in this book could lead to an increase in self confidence and an increase in charisma that will help them get a lot more of what they want out of life. If you follow the advice/steps in this book you will also learn a fair bit about yourself, and always helps you get more clarity about your goals. Great job!
