About the Author
Paul Ekman is co-author of Unmasking the Face (Malor Books, 2003) and more than thirteen other titles. He is professor emeritus of psychology in the department of psychiatry at the University of California Medical School, San Francisco and a frequent consultant on emotional expression to the FBI, the CIA, the ATF, as well as the animation studios Pixar and Industrial Light and Magic.

This book was fantastic. Yes

This book was fantastic. Yes, as someone else pointed out it does have a good amount of "big" words and as I read it I had the dictionary app on my phone open next to me. It is a great book to understand the fundamentals in facial expressions. It doesnt just preach about Darwin and how great of a man he was, it dives deeper into so much other research.
If your looking for a book to fly through, this is not one of them. This book has a lot of information and it deserves for you to take your time and read it carefully. If you want a book you can breeze through without it challenging your vocabulary or your mind then this is not it. It is a tough read but anything easy isn't worth doing/reading.

Exceptional!

I gave this reading a try and I discovered a real gem. From communication and conflict even to understanding trauma (even though not intended fir that purpose) this is a rigorous collection. I hope people will notice further. On Suzanne Chevalier-Skolnikoff's brilliant review, I understand that Lamarckian inheritance is outdated, however there are late studies on famine (the Australian school) and on stress that may thrown some hints that it is not a completely false theory. I wonder what the author thinks about this... Is Lamarckian inheritance theory dead in the water?
