About the Author
David Twicken, DOM, L.Ac., is a licensed practitioner and professor of Chinese medicine. He teaches Qi Gong, Tai Chi Chuan, Nei Dan, feng shui and Chinese astrology. He has studied Chinese healing arts for 30 years and is the author of I Ching Acupuncture - The Balance Method, Eight Extraordinary Channels - Qi Jing Ba Mai, and The Divergent Channels - Jing Bie, also published by Singing Dragon. He resides in Los Angeles, California.

This is not my first book on hypnosis for weight loss, but my previous choice was not that perfect. So I searched if there's another book about losing weight using hypnosis, since I was so engrossed with how hypnosis can helped in losing weight faster that the usual diet plan. And then I found this book. The book clearly explains the benefits of hypnosis, what it can do and a step-by-step method of how to induce hypnosis on either yourself or another. The book is very clear and well laid out and makes a great supplement to healthy diet and exercise regimes. What I liked most about this book was the way in which the author communicated with me, without overwhelming me with scientific jargon and complicated phrases. The book could be a bit longer but that didn't ruin my reading experience.

This book erased my fears about hypnotism and its really become an option for me and my diet plans because I really need all the help I can get. Right now, I'm more hypnotized by the sight of food rather than my dieting. I really think this book will help.

Maybe I'm still on a reading high (although I highly doubt it) but I have to say that your book has transformed my life more than any other book I've read on self improvement. I would trade the stacks of books I have for YOUR book.

THIS is a list of my favorite books...in order. * Mans search for meaning by Victor Frankl. * The 4-hour work-week by Tim Ferriss. * Master The Day by Alex Heyne * The 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey. * The total money makeover by Dave Ramsey. * Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins.

I've read the classics, The Magic of Thinking Big, Think and Grow Rich, How to win Friends and Influence people. I've read books from current, popular authors like Seth Godin and Gary Vaynerchuck. Your book WORKS. It's not just a health book. It's a HOW TO LIVE A LIFE YOU LOVE book!

This book has changed all the rules. If you're currently reading a book about weight loss or a book about goal setting...PUT IT DOWN and read this book! I recently paid $250 for a goal setting workshop that included one phone call a week with the presenter. I would gladly pay $250 for this book over the course.

More than just a Weight Loss Guide!

I was SO impressed by this book and found it to be tremendously useful—grateful to have had a chance to preview it.

I’m a complete self-help junkie and I have read MANY, MANY health, weight loss, mental wellness, nutrition and fitness books. With that said, I’ve seen many online websites that focus on weight loss and fitness, have purchased their ebooks and have been sorely disappointed. Honestly, I was actually expecting to be disappointed by this book as well. (I had just found Heyne’s blog last month and was not a regular reader. ) Most books written by bloggers that I have read werre repetitive (maybe to make the book seem more substantial?) and the information is not new to me. The latter point might be a bit unfair to the writer as the target audience is probably not someone who’s spent time educating herself on nutrition and wellness. This was not true for Master the Day. It is clear and concise with just the right amount of explanation.

Master the Day differs from all the other books I’ve read before and addresses weight loss from a completely different, refreshing point of view. You know, I think it’s wonderful if one can follow the Paleo diet or Whole30 or Beyoncé’s vegan diet for 33 days or whatever and no doubt, there are various health benefits to those diets BUT, this book speak to the many of us who have a hard time STAYING on those diets. Heyne addresses the underlying mental and psychological blocks and how to overcome them. I think it’s more effective to reflect upon why you have, say, a sugar craving at 3 PM than simply advising people to take a walk, distract yourself, drink an herbal tea, etc. Those things may work but when another issue arises, you might not know how to handle that.

Finally, I found that your book went beyond weight loss. It made me reexamine other aspects of my life that I’m not satisfied with and focus on goals for improvement. Heyne shares his personal experience and struggles (and how he overcame them) which I found very helpful and inspiring. It made me, as a reader, feel like I’m not alone in my problems. After reading Master the day, I was filled with the sense that it’s never too late to fulfill your dreams. What I thought would be another futile weight loss book ended up being a useful experience in refocusing on not only my fitness goals but life goals in general!

The Missing Link Between Health Advice and How to Actually Implement It

Over the past several years I've been bouncing between losing weight on one diet or another and then gaining the weight back after I couldn't maintain it. I stumbled upon Alex's website while I was searching yet again for the diet that would "cure" me once and for all. The information I found there was different from any diet books I've read (and I've read A LOT). Intrigued by his practical advice, I eagerly signed up to receive an early copy of his book and devoured it.

This book has been a total game-changer for me. I can't tell you how many 'aha!' moments I had while reading it, how many times I was nodding my head in total agreement, and how many times I wished I'd had this book a decade ago to save me from years of the diet roller coaster. In fact, I read it hoping for diet advice and not only did I find the key to my weight loss success, but I unexpectedly also found the key to success in any area of life...that's quite a bonus!

This book offers hope to those who are exhausted from failing over and over at anything. Most of us know several changes we should make in order to improve our health or our life but we can't seem to DO them consistently. The information here is extremely practical, logical, do-able, and - unfortunately - not common. And to top it off, Alex's writing style is relaxed, funny, and enjoyable to read.

Since reading this book, I started implementing several of the strategies and it's made a huge difference in my personal outlook. I'm working on the last ten pounds, so I (now) understand that it's going to take some time for the scale to move, but I'm confident that it will and already feel empowered and hopeful rather than confused and incompetent. I finally feel like I'm in control of my success. This book will be the first I recommend to anyone having trouble reaching their goals.

Did REAL people write these books or is this book a promotion for inslim.com?

I noticed something a little fishy about this e-book and several others on weight loss and health I've bought recently.

1) All the books have to do with losing weight or improving health.
2) When you click on the author's name under the title, there is no author page. No info about the author is provided.
3) All the books are copyrighted @Talent Writers, inc.
4) All the books have a link to a website by the name InSlim.com

So now I'm wondering, did REAL people write these ebooks? Are these books just a gimmick to people to come to the new website inslim.com?

Is anybody else wondering the same thing? I'd like to hear some feedback from some people and the authors. I am feeling this might be just a gimmick preying on people who want to lose weight to get new subscribers to their website. Am I wrong???

Over 50? Get Motivated!

When we hit 50 and beyond, it seems everything is harder, especially trying to lose those extra pounds we have put on. This is a great book full of some good information for us ladies over 50 that not only need to get that weight off but getting motivated and staying that way. Her tips and secrets that she shares are quite interesting and she is able to open up your eyes to be able to look forward to the new you that you can be. The book is easy to read and follow along. Kudos to the author

About the Author

Sondra Brandler, DSW, is associate professor and former director of the BASW program at the College of Staten Island, City University of New York. Formerly executive director of the Jay Senior Citizens Center, she is the author of various articles on aging, pedagogy, and social work with groups and has worked in many settings, primarily in the field of aging.

Camille P. Roman, LCSW, is in private practice in New York City and is a clinical consultant to Calvary Hospital and Hospice in New York City. For many years she was an adjunct associate professor at the Hunter College School of Social Work of the City University of New York and has also worked as clinical supervisor and director of training at the South Beach Psychiatric Center, Bensonhurst Clinic.

Hugh Howey on food and fitness

This was good. I just wish there was more. The advice seems solid to me and I started the five Tibetans a few weeks ago based on a tweet by Hugh. I'm looking forward to making more changes based on this book. I wish he had more personal testimony in here, but hey, what he says is simple enough that maybe he didn't need to say more.

I was expecting to see a few reviews as this has been published for a few days. You were correct, there are some things people are unwilling to read about their own behavior. I agree with most of your health and diet tips, as in letting yourself feel hungry and doing some little bit of unusual exercise every day. You are right, walking is easy, and challenging your body every day is also easy. I have to read the rest of your Wayfinding series, I can see why your Wool, Dust and Sand series were so good, you are very observant and you don't shy away from life's realities.

Clear, useful advice without having to read hundreds and hundreds of pages

Another no-nonsense, thoughtful book by Howey. I'm sure there are many folks like me that read as many books on health and exercise as calories we consume in a day! Howey labels his thoughts in this book as controversial but it all made sense to me. Some things I never really thought of before. A great, short read that actually delivers useful advice, and you don't have to read hundreds of pages to boil it down. I shall definitely be testing his advice in my own life.

My name is Dale Lewis Roberts and I'm an American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer, Certified, with an ACE specialty certification in Senior Fitness. Since beginning my personal training career in 2006, I have earned numerous certifications in personal training, yoga, nutritional coaching, among others. I have worked with hundreds of clients with a variety of health & fitness goals. While my greatest passions are health & fitness, writing and reading, I also love to spend time traveling with my wife, watching pro wrestling and playing guitar. Wonderful resource!

The 15 minute standing Abs workout plan is a great resource for working your midsection. It comes with 10 standing abs exercises that can be done to strengthen, shrink, and help develop your core. These exercises are great for your stomach area, sides and back.

This book gives you a reasonable way to start building the muscles you need in your abdominal area as well as help loose inches around the mid section. This is a great guide that goes into detail on exercises that will help you get the results you desire.

These exercises are simple to do and really work. You can use this book as a guide if you are a beginner or a trained athlete. I am a runner and I workout a lot, but I can definitely say that like most My midsection needs some work. I have a good strong core but I have a lot of inches that I need to loose. I also have a lot of lower back pain. I was very excited that I got the opportunity to read and incorporate this book into my fitness routine.

Usually when you think of ab exercises you think of lying down and doing crunches, but this is a new spin on it! These are standing exercises! Standing exercises burn more calories than when you are lying down, so you will be able to get more out of your workout by simply standing up. I do these exercises first thing in the morning after I wake up and stretch. I always stretch before I start so that I don't get any injuries. I also complete the workout with stretching to keep from being sore. I started with 10 repetitions of each exercise 3 times a week. I am now doing 10-15 reps of exercises each morning 5 days a week. I like these exercises because you can do them anywhere. I can do them in my office at work, at home when I wake up or before bed, or even at the gym before I start my workout.

Using this book as a guide along with a healthy eating style and moderate workout will definitely help you get the results you desire to achieve. You will definitely be able to tell a difference in how you feel and how you look with consistent dedication to these exercises.

If you're just starting or re-entering exercise, this is the book for you! No dvds, equipment, or getting on the floor and crunching, just easy to do, standing exercises that take 15 minutes, and will do wonders for your posture snd core strength, which will keep you from injury as you move into more exercises. A well toned core supports your spine, Dale points that out, and what is the main reason people quit a program? Back pain! And boredom. Well these 15 minutes of exercises won't leave you bored, but they'll leave you breathing better, standing taller, and feeling mentally and physically brighter, and smarter, because you stood up and did something great for yourself that'll have long term benefits! Get this, do this, and after a month, check yourself out in the mirror! And because you do them in the morning, your brain will function better because your blood is circulating! Can't beat it!
