About the Author

Joel M. Reiter, MD, is Associate Clinical Professor and Director of Neurology Training, Emeritus, at UCSF - Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency. He conducted a private practice in Neurology for 35 years, devoting clinical and research time to investigating behavioral interventions that improve seizure control and quality of life for individuals with epilepsy. He is boarded in Neurology and received degrees from Harvard, NYU, and UCSF. In 1981, he and Dr. Donna Andrews founded the Andrews/Reiter Epilepsy Research Program. He subsequently published Epilepsy: A New Approach and other pioneering work; lectured internationally on neurobehavioral management of epilepsy; and served as the sole neurologist in Bhutan.

Donna Andrews, PhD, is Director of Therapy Research at the Andrews/Reiter Epilepsy Research Program. At age 18, she contracted viral encephalitis followed by complex partial seizures refractory to multiple antiepileptic medications. She had a unique insight that enabled her to achieve complete seizure control. She utilized this experience to develop treatment methods that allowed her to work effectively with thousands of patients. She and Dr. Reiter researched these methods and describe them in Taking Control of Your Seizures: Workbook. Dr. Andrews has a Master's in Rehabilitation Administration from the University of San Francisco; a Ph.D. in psychology from the SFPSP; and travels the globe to lecture and treat patients.

Charlotte Reiter, FNP, earned her B.S. in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certification from SSU where she was the first nursing graduate to be chosen as a commencement speaker. She brought skills honed developing patient education materials for UCSF's Family Practice residency program to writing and editing Taking Control of Your Epilepsy: A Workbook for Patients and Professionals. As a College FNP at Santa Rosa Junior College, she coordinated with the Enabling department to provide services for students with epilepsy and developmental disabilities. She edits publications for the Andrews/Reiter Epilepsy Research Program and writes/edits for the Tarayana Foundation, a Bhutanese nonprofit.

W. Curt LaFrance, Jr., MD, MPH, is Director of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurology at Rhode Island Hospital (RIH) and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at Alpert Medical School, Brown University. He is the neuropsychiatrist for the RIH Comprehensive Epilepsy Program and a faculty member of the Brown Institute for Brain Science. He studied at Wake Forest University (BA in psychology), Medical College of Georgia (MD), and Brown University (MPH). He trained in Brown's combined residency in neurology and psychiatry and is double boarded. His research is in neuropsychiatric aspects of epilepsy, somatoform disorders, and Traumatic Brain Injury. He is co-editor of Gates and Rowan's Nonepileptic Seizures.

I recommend this book with all my heart. If you have seizures and want find out what you can do to reduce them, buy this book!

I have read an earlier version of this book. Under the guidance of Donna Andrews and working with this book, I was able to drastically reduce the amount of seizures I had. I now rarely have seizures and feel that I have control. I learned how to identify each and every trigger to my seizures and learned how to prevent seizures by doing something different (and therefore avoid having a seizure). I can now even identify the feelings that could lead to a seizure and avoid having an attack. Just one example: Unfortunately my house burned down in the Valley Fire in Lake County. While standing on the leftovers of my house, my whole life, loved antiques, books, clothes and so on, I could feel I was on emotional overwhelm and close to a seizure. I knew what to do. Working with this book and Donna had taught me well. I did not have a seizure, even though I felt it upcoming and was very close to it. I eve ended up comforting the man who held me while I cried. My emotions had triggered his trauma's as a fire fighter!
I recommend this book with all my heart. If you have seizures and desire to not have them dictate your life, like to learn how to reduce them without drugs, read this book! For me the work of Donna Andrews was the answer to my prayers. Having had epilepsy for many years herself, and endless seizures a day, Donna discovered how to overcome her seizure disorder. I highly respect what she has to bring to this world.

Beautiful Calendar and Great Price

Just what I wanted! I had a similar one last year and it looks great on a wall. It's in my kitchen, and adds a lovely touch. The pictures are stunning, the calendar is large enough to write things to do in each square box for a date and I am sure next year I will get another!

Wil Fleming is the Owner of Force Fitness and Performance and Athletic Revolution Bloomington, in Bloomington, Indiana. Force Fitness is one of the most successful training facilities in the Midwest with nearly 300 clients, 75 athletes earning Division I scholarships, and nearly 90 athletes moving on to compete at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels. Wil is a national-level Olympic weightlifter (finishing 8th in the 2013 and 2014 National Championships) despite being one of the few competitors in his 30s. He is the coach of dozens of successful weightlifters ages 11-40. He is also one of the nation s youngest national-level weightlifting coaches through USAW. In addition to being a business owner, Fleming is an accompliched author. He wrote the International Conditioning Association s Olympic Lifts Instructor Course manual as well as the Speed and Agility chapter in IYCA Essentials of High School Strength and Conditioning text along with noted performance experts like Eric Cressey and Mike Robertson. He also authored and filmed the Core Lifts program intended to help Athletic Revolution franchisees learn and refine their coaching technique regarding fundamental weight lifting skills and his work also appears on T-Nation, STACK, and a number of other media outlets. In 2013, he also teamed up with Coach Dos Remedios on the successful product Power Evolution, detailing their go-to power development exercises for athletes and clients. Great book for beginners learning the lifts or someone that ...

Great book for beginners learning the lifts or someone that has been doing it a while that is desiring a better understanding of the positions and progressions. The mobility part of the book was interesting and i'm sure a lot of people would find it useful. Wil also includes some sample programs in the back that you can follow. Overall I like the book but if you are new to lifting you will encounter some industry jargon that you might have to look up.

Only feedback or criticism is that the book leaves intermediate lifters something to long for. I would like more information on remedies for common weightlifting mistakes. Drills that author would use to correct a certain issue etc.

Til this date the most complete book on the subject matter available is Greg Everetts book the complete guide for athlets and coaches Olympic Weightlifting.

Needs to be formatted for ereaders

I bought this for kindle ereader but returb=ned because it is not formatted right for an ereader. It looks like an awesome book and I'm sure in​ paperback it is but it's not good on kindle. I'm hoping it will be corrected soon so I can rebuy this book. I was looking forward to reading it but couldn't because the writing was too small.

From start to finish Wil has been very thorough and the programs at the end are very helpful. I can't recommend this enough.

An amazing book.

The internet is constantly bombarding us with visuals and messages and ideas. It's hard to think, if I'm being honest, which is why I got this book. I really found it useful. The author goes through the biggies like religions, cults, media, corporations and more. What I like about this book is that the author gives an introduction/history of each section of propaganda and then breaks it down to its origins on most of them. The religion section was fascinating to me because he explained the tenants of each major faith, showing their similarities and differences, then gave rational steps to objectively nullify their swaying power. Being a free thinker is important in this information age. Having a sound mind to research and calmly analyze ideas is vital to keeping your sanity. This book helped me in that regard. Highly recommend.

Ever Wonder...

I have always been the curious type, asking questions about everything. My grandfather used to call the television the "idiot box," and now I understand why. Have you ever wondered why you believe certain things? Well, Jim Foster addresses these very issues in this book, UnBrainwashing Yourself.

Foster does an excellent job in explaining the propaganda behind mass media, the educations system, medical field, the government, and much more. A very eye-opening read that has made me question why I even began to watch tv in the first place. Highly recommend those who like to question the state of the world and their belief system and want to make a positive change in their lives. I have a much clearer perspective on everything and I am better for it.

Fascinating!

This book was fascinating to me with all the different subjects that it touched on while traveling parallel to the theme of the book. It was also an eye-opener for issues most current and therefore I found it extremely pertinent (and probably not only to me, but others that I know as well). I not only learned a lot about society but also myself…
I was probably most grateful for the author's intelligence and concise writing along with educating me to new ideas. If you want to know why some of the things just seem to "happen" in the your world today, this book is a fabulous headstart to understanding that!

Delicious recipes without all the gluten!

Jamie does an amazing job with this book in delivering as promised. The recipes are 100% gluten free and boy are they easy to make and delicious. It is often hard to imagine bread being so tasty without any gluten. Though, Jamie goes right into exactly how to do just this.

I especially love how each recipe gives very easy to follow recipes and doesn't assume I know anything (which probably is true). In addition, the recipes each show exactly the nutritional value of each of the recipes. This is important when tracking calories and also carbohydrates. For anyone needing to cut out gluten, these recipes are perfect!

This quick read introduced me to a new concept called Volumetrics Diet. I realized that this diet can help me get more energy and lose more weight. I like how the author lays out the Volumetrics Diet process step by step. The meal plan and diet recipes are very useful. I can now make yummy food that is healthy for my body.

This book has heaps of great information about the energy needs for your diet and changing that to make you always feel full. I did some googling and there it is science based so I will give it a try. The other thing about the book is the amount of recipes that looked so enticing, for a diet book that’s rare.

It really interests me as it will give me chance to create bath bombs and bath scrubs on my own which is beneficial to my family

I think not only women are craving for a nice skin but also men. Here, it offers two set in one price which is amazingly great that is why I am so glad in having this. For book 1, it deals about making your own bath bombs which is neither complicated nor time consuming. It’s safe, easy and much more affordable. You avoid the risk of getting a bomb that has other ingredients added that brings harms to your skin. For book 2, it focuses on creating your own bath scrub wherein aside from being safe, it is less money consuming then. Body Scrub will make skin looks healthy and can help improve your totality. It really interests me as it will give me chance to create both of them on my own which is beneficial to my family for their skin needs.
Such a great idea to have this, highly recommend to everybody who want to experience good looking skin all the time.

Three books in one

Bath Bomb book - Short but good for beginners. It has 6 steps to making bath bombs and what you need. There is also a section on bath bombs for kids. There aren't specific recipes but you can figure out how to make your own by following the steps.

Body Scrub book - This book has about 6 different recipes which all look good! There is information on making body scrubs, ingredients and what is in store bought scrubs.

Body Butter book - I skimmed this book. There was a how to section with a basic recipe although it does not give specific ingredients to use for the recipe.

Overall these three books are fairly good for beginners as it does give basic information on each.

I would love to go natural with body butters and bath bombs...

I love body scrubs. It exfoliates the dead skin and gives a healthy glow. But I cannot afford to buy them very often because the branded ones are quite expensive. Having read about the different chemicals present in the store bought scrubs and their dangerous effects I have determined not to use them again. I found the chapter about natural ingredients and how beneficial it is to the skin was very informative. The recipes were super easy and the ingredients are not as expensive as I assumed. I would love to go natural with body butters and bath bombs as well. The recipes seemed very creative to me.
